Program Description

Making LV Dead provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely identify, isolate, test and establish low-voltage electrical apparatus as de-energised before work is performed. Training includes hazard identification, isolation procedures, testing for dead, control of backfeed and alternative supply sources, application of locks and tags, and safe reinstatement in accordance with workplace and electricity network procedures. It is usually delivered in conjunction with UETDRMP012 and UETDRMP013.

The current VESI Skills and Training Guideline, Version 12 dated April 2026, specifies a three-yearly frequency for the Making LV Dead module.
